Vintage Brass and Copper Pullman Train Luggage Rack Shelf Railroad.
This is a very nice old luggage rack or shelf from a railroad car of some kind.  It is made primarily of brass with some copper.  The end pieces are solid brass castings with no cracks or breaks of any kind.  The end pieces are easily removed by 2 threaded nuts on each side (see the last three pictures).  When removed, they reveal two threaded steel rods that run across the width of the shelf to support heavy loads.  The steel rods are encased within copper tubes, for aesthetic purposes.  The grating is made of solid brass--it's very heavy, and is riveted to the copper tubes, providing solid support.  The entire shelf weighs over 17 pounds, unpacked.
Overall, this is a very well made vintage piece of railroad history.  To ensure that the item arrives safely, I will disassemble the end pieces and pack them separately.  This should protect the brass castings during shipment.  Reassembly should be quick and simple.
