Vintage Akeley Photo Theodolite Camera Model PH-32 military USN & wood crate

Here is a vintage Akeley Photo Theodolite, model PH-32. Don't know much about it, comes from a local military collectors estate. Comes with its original wooden crate or case that it is locked down in for security. Looks to have been used by the US Navy, don't know how long ago. Since I don't know anything about it or how it works, I'm selling it as is, not working, for parts or for repair. It's very heavy, the Theodolite itself is about 100 lbs and the case is about another 100 lbs. Theodolite is approx 34" tall and 16" wide at its widest. Its crate is approx 4'x3'x2', it shows plenty of wear which is expected, it is missing the middle lock latch and one of the side latches, one side latch remains to hold it together. Comes with a extra film canister of some sort. This is local pick up only or you may arrange third party shipping.
