Vertical & Lateral Adjustment Instrument Survey Base / Metrology Support Adapter

Description

Listing is for a custom adjustable instrument base for survey instruments / optical alignment tools.  This appears to be a custom brass unit because it's completely unmarked.  The base will require some screws or additional fabrication / parts in order to be mounted however the top features a standard 3 1/2 x 8 thread mount.
This unit consists of two main parts that all fit together.  The base square part features a screw lift mechanism that moves along a toothed bar.  The square brass mechanism was originally attached to another jig fixture via 4x screws.  Unfortunately we don't have screws that fit these holes so a future owner would need to figure out a way to attach it.
The top piece of this unit has two adjustment knobs which control movement of a single axis in both directions.  The mechanism works when one side is loosened the other can be tightened thus pushing and moving the platform.  The action is smooth and works great, however it doesn't have a ton of travel distance.
The top piece also has a fine vertical adjustment feature.  There is a knob underneath the top which can be fully rotated in both directions to raise or lower the piece.  Another screw allows this piece to lock in place so it doesn't move at all.
Also included with this fixture is a brass extension piece which screws onto the top.  This is purely an extension with female threads underneath and identical male threads above.  The piece measures ~2" tall.
The threads of the top are standard 3 1/2 x 8 for instruments and stands.
