PMS Artex Resin Replica Scrimshaw Whale's Tooth

Description

Replica Scrimshaw Whale Tooth of 2 ships, the "U.S.S. Of W Ohio" and The "Ship London Of Salem".
Piece is marked in 2 locations
1---inside root area of the tooth, you will see "ArTeK replica".
2---On the root end and to the left of the word "London", you will see a small rectangular mark with the "PMS ArTeK" mark.
There is some faint coloring on the flag on both ships
Please see pictures for condition--it is a scrimshaw replica of a museum quality piece.  Note***PMS stands for "Peabody Museum of Salem" now known as "Peabody-Essex Museum".
It has the look and heft of an old piece of scrimshaw.  I appears to be made of Resin.
Item is approximately 6 3/4" in length and weighs approximately 10 ounces.
There appears to be some chipping on the inside of the root end. May have been dropped at some.
Overall condition is very good.
A great item for an old sea dog collector.
***Some pictures show the piece to be lighter in color, due to position and light,  but actual color is as in the first picture.
