Yet another unique solution from M&K professional, the MPS-44 solves the problem of monitoring 4 channels of audio in very tight physical environments, placing 4 high performance monitors in a single compact cabinet to reproduce the Left, Right, Left Surround and Right Surround channels.
The Left and Right speakers are on the front of the cabinet, and the Surround speakers are mounted on the Left and Right sides of the cabinet.
One of the secrets to the spectacular performance and power handling of the MPS-44 is the use of M&K's Danish made tweeter, the MK Z26 Neodymium 1" soft-cloth-dome. The goal of the Z26 was to achieve a similar sound signature and performance as the professional Z16 tweeter, but in a smaller package. This very special high performance tweeter, which looks similar to earlier 1" Neodymium tweeters, utilizes a new 1" dome based upon the cloth material used in the Z16 tweeter and a very high temperature ferrofluid cooled voice coil . The steel structure of the Z26 has a highly effective integrated heat sink which further helps dissipate heat at high sound levels resulting in near perfect linearity even at calibrated Dolby studio sound levels.
