This listing is for the Brunson model 284-1 adjustable Cube Mirror with spindle mount appearing in our photos.
Serial no.: ID-AB-14107.
The mirror on this unit is a 2" (50.8mm) precision chrome carbide cube with 5 mutually orthogonal faces.
The top and two opposing vertical sides of the cube feature a very fine line (cross hairs) target pattern

The base features angular (tilt) adjustment, as well as lateral adjustment in 2 axis.
For spindle mounting the base features a 5/8"-32 threaded port to accommodate either the 1" or 3/4" diameter steel chucking arbors that are included.
This unit is intended for use as a spindle target or corner reference for "turning" precise right angles, orthogonal analysis, etc. This type of mirror is also useful for corner control and optical metrology set-ups using multiple instruments. More specifically, uses of this tooling include metrology tasks to check CNC machine spindle parameters such as tilt, runout, and also parallelism and squareness in relation to to machine ways and saddles.
The surfaces of the chrome carbide cube are flat to 1/4 wavelength of Na light.
Adjacent mirror surfaces are mutually orthogonal within 2 seconds of arc.
The stage construction is mostly aluminum. The spindles are steel.

Approximate weights: mirror (less arbors) 7.5 pounds, mirror with arbors and storage case 15.6 pounds.
