Description
This is an original Boston and Maine Railroad Budd RDC number board, from car 6103 a Model 1 RDC. The car was built in 1953 and shipped to the B&M in April 3 of that year. The number remained the same when the car was transferred to the MBTA. It was demotorized in 1980 and scrapped in Yard 14 Cambridge in the 1990s. The number board is made of stainless steel and includes two trim pieces. Please see photograph. It is 3' wide and 9" high. There are 14 holes for mounting. The numbers were etched into the stainless steel and then painted. The piece could use a good cleaning and polishing prior to repainting the number. A wonderful piece of B&M and Budd history. Carefully shipped via USPS with tracking information.
