    Description

Behringer FCB1010 OS v1.0.4 UnO EPROM Firmware Upgrade Chip. These chips are brand new high quality Winbond IC's. They will be sent first class mail in a bubble wrap envelope and packed in electrostatic packaging.
This is a very useful upgrade to the Behringer chip that the unit is supplied with. One of the most useful aspects is that one row of buttons can now be used in "stomp box" mode which allows you to turn individual effects on and off. The other row allows you to move through patches. There is much more added functionality that this upgrade allows. The directions that I give below are simply how to physically install the UnO IC.
    The UnO is rarely plug-n-play
and there is a bit of a learning curve, so I recommend that you join the FCB1010 UnO users group located at
    groups.io
, a news group service (it's free). Unfortunately Ebay will not let me supply the link. There, you can download a manual, learn about how to use the UnO upgrade, learn how to initialize the new chip (your board won't work unless you do this), ask questions, and download templates to allow control of many devices.
There are also two free editors available to use with the FCB1010 once the
    UnO
    chip is installed:
    Ripwerx
    and
    FCB1010  PC Editor
. These are available on the groups.io group above.
    Installation notes:
This install requires you to open the bottom side of the unit and remove and install an IC. If you don't feel comfortable doing it, get someone to do it who has done this sort of thing before. Please have a look at the pictures that I have posted in the ad as you follow along.
    1. Remove all of the screws around the bottom of the unit around the border and the six screws in the middle. Don't remove the two recessed screws and the large silver screw that is recessed on the left side.
    2. Make sure as you remove the bottom cover, you don't damage the green ground cable on the left. It's best to keep it connected and try to find a way to prop it up so that it won't tug on this cable.
    3. Note the mainboard on the right back side of the unit. The chip you will remove is in the position that you see it in the picture.
    3. GENTLY use a plastic prying tool or small flathead screwdriver to push up the chip from the socket. Make sure the tool goes between the socket and the chip, not under the socket. Go from side to side and do it little by little until it frees itself. Take your time.
I cannot be held responsible for ruined chips.
    4. It is very important that the UnO chip be put in the correct way. If not it will very likely destroy the chip and possibly the FCB 1010! If you are looking at the unit with the mainboard on the opposite side (like I have it in the picture), the new chip will go in with the
    label upside down.
Another way to tell if it's in right is to look at the right side of the chip as you insert it. There should be a little half-moon shaped notch on that side of the chip. Slowly push it in and make sure all of the pins are lined up properly.
    5. Put the back plate on and put all of the screws back in and your ready to go!
When you first power up, the display may flicker a bit. This is normal as the foot pedal's may need to be calibrated. Move the foot pedals around a bit and this should stop.
Just some extra stuff that I have to put in here but
    please read

I will be very glad to leave feedback for you if you leave feedback for me.
I do warranty that the chip will work if installed correctly. I cannot be responsible for installation errors or damaged chips, or any damage to your FCB1010 from you installing the chip. I cannot warranty the chip after you have installed this to your device. If you want to return the NEVER INSTALLED chip (not removed from it's original packaging) you can, but you will need to pay return shipping and I will subtract the shipping that I had paid to send it to you.
The USPS has been having delays in their shipping as of late and you may receive your shipment late or tracking may not be updated. Thank you for your patience!
